Excellent service; they took our bags to our room, valet parking - staff refused tips!

Relaxing, comfortable room and good ambience in the hotel.

First floor room did get some noise from party going on below.

It was 35 deg Cent when we arrived and still maybe 30 deg at 8 pm when we ate in the gastronomic restaurant. I made the mistake of ordering a Pate de Chartres which was very large and heavy and nearly finished me off. I would be wary of the gastronomic in very hot weather, or ask advice on choosing something light. For this reason we chose their Madrigal restaurant on the way back and the food was entirely approprate and really excellent. I forgot my linen jacket when we left. We rang them and asked them to keep it for us until our return in two weeks. Not only was this done but it was waiting for me, neatly folded, in our room when we arrived. Excellent service. It was an old hotel and was therefore distinctive rather than an impersonal new chain. The hotel is very friendly.

When it is hot, as it was when we arrived, the hotel is going to be hot. Obviously improved aircon would help.
