Room was not available at indicated time (2pm). Then not available at the next 2 advised availability times (3pm and 3.30pm) Finally got room at 6pm. Reception staff (female) very rude and surly. No customer service skils. Room was very poor for a 3 star hotel costing E$120 per night. Bed mattress was old,soft and uncomfortable. Decor & fitings were was tired. Bed side lamp shade was broken ad light did not work. TV was old 14 inch TV and did not work. Toilet was dirty and smelt of stale urine. Overall very poor value for money and will advise friends visiting Normandy to avoid this hotel.

Overall I was pleased with our stay but I found the hotel was a little short on staff and service. In the four days we were there I never saw the reception manned so always had to go over to the other hotel which meant I could never get a tray of tea or coffee for the room. The breakfast tables were never cleaned and relaid nor the breakfast buffet kept supplied with food without request which was irritating and time wasting in the morning. (3305198652)

Parking

In contrast to some other online commentary, I found the staff to be extremely helpful and charming. While it is easy to be confused while searching for the hotel since the Best Western Luxembourg is just around the corner on the more traveled street, the entrance is well marked and visible. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially since its central location makes it easy to walk to all that one might want to see in the city. (3304767294)

The apartment we stayed in was very large and bright. The beds were most comfortable, and our children were delighted to have a separate bedroom.

I would suggest that the stairs be recarpeted. It would also be helpful to have written directions posted online for exit from the major highway (the N13) that comes into Bayeux.

We were allocated what appeared to be lesser quality rooms - they were right at the top of the hotel with only small windows to open. It was extremely hot! One of the guests is registered disabled and can only walk with a stick and finds stairs very difficult. We booked this hotel because it has a lift. When we checked in we were told the lift only went up to level three (our rooms were on level 4). I said we really needed to be able to access the room from the lift, and the receptionist said it was only a few stairs and would not be a problem! In actual fact it was a full flight of winding stairs through two fire doors, which proved rather onerous to say the least. If we had been staying for more than one night we would have complained most strongly and insisted on a more suitable room. It would appear that the rest of the hotel had been booked out to a group of Germans for an overnight visit - this also meant that the restaurant was closed that night. We had the distinct impression that our requirements were not given the same importance as those of the German guests! (3304673234)

Check in was completely non existant you had to go to the hotel next door to check in but there was no notice informing you of this. The member of staff a young girl who showed us to our rooms was surly, rude and very unhelpful no assistance was offered with the luggage even though two of the party were elderly ladies .The reastaurant food was good and service good until coffee and liquers which seemed initially to be a problem. The check out was totally incompetent as my bill could not be located and delayed our departure

No-one on reception when we arrived and no bell to draw attention to presence. Rooms available at the back of hotel, where no traffic or building, so you could open windows. If parking is full, then pay and display car park next door, free on Sundays and after 6pm, but cannot park all day there. The room was okay, exactly what it looked like in the pictures. The bed and carpeting seemed old though. I wouldn't have stayed here for much longer than a weekend. However, for the time we were there it was a perfect location. When we interacted with the staff everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The people we dealt with all spoke English very well. The area is excellent. It is right off of a main street where all of the shops and restaurants are. Also it is about a 15-20 minute walk to the train station. Perfect location!

There was nobody at the front desk during check in or check out and we had to wait several minutes until somebody finally arrived. Also we had to go down to the front desk to have our phone turned on in order to use it.
