Uitstekend
(107415491)

Een schitterende accomodatie. Fraai van stijl en inrichting. Uitstekend ontbijt en prachtige kamer. De flatscreen TV verrastte ons aangenaam.
A from Derbyshire, GB (Family with older children) 10 November 2008
Had Active hotels bothered to tell the hotel thay had taken a booking for us, it would have gone a lot smoother on arrival!
(107539739)

beds were ok

Hotel had no booking for us - most annoying when we had a reservation number, an email printed out of the confirmation and had a long drive behind us plus a baby in my arms. They said the group reservations office hadn't advised them, luckily they had two spare rooms otherwise we would have been really stuck but this doesn't make up for the booking never having been advised to the hotel!
Hotel was very noisy, parties etc, and we stayed awake most the night as our infant was woken by revellers retruning to rooms.

The hotel was excellent with lovely food. The staff in bar were really slow with sweet that my husband had ordered that we cancelled it as we had waited for more than half an hour. The room was lovely and a good size and breakfast was gorgeous in a nice setting.missed a minibar in the room though but overall very impressed.

Very positive on the whole.
(97845555)

Friendliness of reception staff. Good service at dinner table. Pleasant meal. Generally pleasant swimming pool (though see below).

No person available to show me how to use equipment in gym. The only trainer was with another guest. I gave up and went to the pool. This latter would have been more pleasant, had it been less ferociously heated...

The room and bathroom were great, the room was clean and tidy.

The one minor thing was that the pool area smelt like wet dog!!! Not sure whether the smell was coming from the toilets or elsewhere.
RICHARD from GIBRALTAR, GI (Mature couple) 08 May 2008
The weekend stay did,nt go as planned. The staff I found were very polite, however we had problems booking in at reception as it appeared that a few of the staff were slighly unsure on what to do on the computer, however I put that down to possibly new staff training etc not a problem as it happens. Then on the second day our room was not cleaned at all, however, a very nice member of reception used her iniative and helped us out with towels & tea/coffee etc. The last point was on booking out at reception there was no record we had paid by cash on arrival for our stay which made my wife slightly embarrassed as other customers were listening to the conversation. To summarize our stay we found the staff very pleasant, however, the above points did affect our overall view on how the hotel was generally run.

Overall, stay was excellent.Food was good and staff pleasant and helpful.
Only negative point was that on returning to hotel after a day visiting friends, bar service was not available after midnight.

Room was clean and comfortable.Hotel was busy but quiet at night which meant sleep not disturbed.

The hotel was ok. Dont touch the house wine. It was like river water. The food was good in the victory restaraunt. The hotel is on the main flight path for manchester airport but i did not hear a thing on a noght time.
(97124418)

The room was modern.

The bed was tiny i would say a single dressed up as a double

Friendly staff. Good location within easy walking distance of Cheadle village and bus stop to Manchester just across the road. Great swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, etc.

The 'pull down' style bed in our room was very uncomfortable and since the frame of the bed exceeded the mattress size, in the dark we kept walking into it!
Anonymous (Young couple) 28 November 2007
The gym and swimming pool were quiet over the two days that we stayed giving us full access. Chose the weekend rate which included the voucher for the restaraunt excellent value we ate early so we were choose from the early bird menu so the voucher went a long way on both food and drink. The staff all around the hotel were very pleasant and only too happy to help and everyone always had a smile on there face which does help. The room was quite large space either side of the bed so you didn't feel claustrophobic and a large selection of channels on the TV.
(97503683)

Leisure facilties were excellent. Had dinner in the restaraunt and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. Good size room with all the requirements for a weekend stay.

Good Hotel with an excellent Restaurant and facilities
(97164966)

The doors to the rooms are sprung loaded and make a very loud bang if allowed to close on there own.
Anne from Loddon, GB (Mature couple) 24 October 2007
The major works going on inside the hotel.
Perhaps the staff might have been more sympathetic with our concerns.I was thanked for informing them of the problem with the plubing but no appology was given. We will not be returning to this hotel again. Not a pleasant experience this time.
(97706305)

Major internal refurbishment being undertaken. Plumbing noises all night in the bathroom kept us awake.Walls very thin you could hear the conversation and other antics on both sides of our room. The room was tired and old fashioned in style and in need of improvement and updating.
Anonymous (Group of adult friends) 22 October 2007
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and being able to use the leisure facilities was a bonus. I would have liked to have been told that the hotel was on the flight path, but having said that I'm not sure it would have stopped me booking, as the hotel looked and sounded so nice from the web site. The weekend discount was great value for money and the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and approachful,I would definately recommend the hotel to others.
(97280709)

It was comfortable and had a homely feel.

It was a bit noisy on the Saturday night, when there was a wedding reception(having a room over the bar).

Good value accomodation,it wasnt 4-5 star but then we didnt expect it to be .We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we wanted budget accomodation in Manchester area. The rooms could have been better furnished and decorated, but then again the price would have been higher. The accomodation was clean and pleasant. The friendly staff really made a difference.
(97185872)

staff very helpful and friendly...food vouchers much appreciated.

Nothing...all good value .

The blend of clean functionality and good leisure facilities made this a welcome business venue. I would also consider using this for a lesiure break.
(99828711)

Clean and Fresh

The room was equiped for disabled, hence the ensuite bathroom was less suited to our needs.
Not a major issue but: although we were late arriving to restaurant approx 21-47, it had just closed at 21-45. We had previously been advised that closing time was 22-00. consequently we ended up eating out
Anonymous (Young couple) 01 June 2007
Fire alarm drill in the car park in the pouring rain. I arrived early and was told I couldn't check in for another 2 hours - fair enough but there was no assistance or suggestions for holding luggage for 2 hours for example.
There seemed to be a lot of young children running riot and opening fire doors whilst we were trying to eat. Cash machine was not dispensing money whilst we were there.
To be fair the room itself was fine.

I can't say that I was not aware of the plains before I booked, I just didn't think they would be so low and so constant. For anyone who dosn't like noise or children then this is not the place for you.

Very clean and tidy throughout and the staff were great.

Too many children, Leisure part open to public and very busy, Plains just kept coming and coming all throught he night. No air con.

We were very impressed with the hotel and it's facilities and found it very good value for money. Our room was very spacious and modern and the leisure facilities were better than we had expected. We were very pleased to receive a voucher to use at our local village (nottingham). This will give us another relaxing day in the spa. The evening meal was fabulous, our special requests were catered for and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Again good value for money. The breakfast was also delicious!

The hotel was ideally situated for the airport and/or public transport to manchester city centre. For a weekend break there was everything you need. Comfortable accommodation, excellent restaurant/breakfast facilities. Lively bar and superb leisure complex. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all excellent value for money. Although the hotel is directly under the airport flight path, quality double glazing keeps noise intrusion to a minimum.

The staff were outstanding. Friendly and efficient without being in your face. Our special request of a cot had not been provided as we arrived but within a few minutes, without any hassle, it was sorted. The leisure facilities were fantastic, especially the special arrangements for kids. Breakfast was of a very high standard with a good choice for full English or continental. We will definately be staying here again.

This hotel is to be highly recommended. The rooms are very well equipped and maintained. The bar areas are modern and welcoming. The food is excellent. The leisure club is also a bonus; the facilites are clean and modern and available to guests. All staff are friendly and helpful. I would have liked to stay longer - maybe next time!

The room was large and clean with plenty of storage space. There were also two fans, which were very welcome! The bathroom was clean and modern. The bed was comfortable.

I disliked having to leave.
