This is a great family business and nothing was too much trouble. The father ran the hotel and restaurant while the son ran the lively bar. We drank in the pub all day, had a lovely slap up dinner and a comfortable night. This is a proper olde worlde country inn and I'd definitely recommend it to my friends. (99492311)

positive comments The room, the decor, the food, the booze, the breakfast...
negative comments Nothing really. If I was going to split hairs we could have done with a 5ft bed rather than a 4ft6 but that's mainly cos my bloke is ridiculously broad.

On arrival (at about 4.30pm) it took some time to get attention, no one answered the door for about ten minutes. The room was too small for two people, no wardrobe, just hooks to hang clothes, no hangers either. The shower door was faulty. It would have been nice to have a choice of still water or fizzy water in the room The breakfast was quite good, but no side plates for toast and coffee should have been served in proper coffee pots not by the cup. Apart from these few niggles, our stay was quite pleasant. The staff were very polite. Evening meals were rather expensive for an Inn. The specials board remained the same over four nights. positive comments The location
negative comments The room was far too small (Dover) for two people

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was a birthday surprise for my fiance, and considering we were only 8 miles from home, it was a pleasure to stay here. It was clean, everyone was friendly and the breakfast in the morning was prompt and yummy. (3304900398)

positive comments The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and romantic.
negative comments A minor point really, but could hear the people upstairs.
