Pleasant experience, food in the restaurant was very good, and the service excellent
(108156990)

All the staff were very helpful and nothinb was too much trouble, they all seemed happy at their work

The cleanliness of the room and bathroom were poor.
The general decor of the bathroom and some of the room furniture need updating.
Anonymous (Mature couple) 12 April 2009
Very comfortable.
(107380314)

Softer bed than normal in hotels, etc. Good breakfast included in internet price. Light and airy. Good size room. Quiet. Pond made it attractive. Internet deal good value.

Bathroom needs refurbishing - grubby looking corner and 'goo' sealing sealing soil pipe from loo, although I think it is actually clean, just tired. Picture in bedroom looking tired and grubby.

i would say general review was adequate
(97683082)

Hotel was easily accessible and had plenty of parking space even with an event taking place at the time.

However, still on parking point - the disable parking was bloked by several cars and this was not accessible.
Hotel corridoors carpet was absolutely filty and dirty. I found reception staff took their time, when booking out one of the staff just left the reception in the middle of booking and went into a room attending to something else. This delayed us in getting to where we wanted to go.

the room was quite big and liked how the beds were done and the towels changed each day and hoovered

i think that the beds in the room could do with changing. Ours was very springy and went into your back everytime you moved. Hopefully if you have any more complaints this will be rectified
F from LONDON, GB (Solo leisure traveller) 13 February 2008
From the look of the exterior and the helpfulness of the reception staff I thought I would have a pleasant stay at the hotel but so many things let it down that I was very glad that I had only booked for one night I would not recommend the Nottingham Gateway Hotel to anyone.

i think guests should be informed at time of booking if there is a wedding or function that will affect sleep!! when i arrived at the hotel i was informed by the receptionist that the noise would stop at 12pm which i accepted, however this was not the case, the music continued till just after 1 am, honesty is always the best option!!! i felt very let down.

very noisy room!!
DAVIES from NORWICH, GB (Young couple) 26 June 2007
Overall, the location of the hotel and the parking in the hotel grounds was excellent, the service was good, the breakfast was delicious, the price was reasonable. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room, and although the room was basic, it was fine for the amount paid for an overnight stay.
(99426005)

Good facilities, easy to find, easy booking

The bed was broken in one corner and leaned to one side making it not very comfortable

The entrance and reception area was clean and welcoming. Rooms were well laid out and comfortable. Good water pressure in the shower.

Had a bit of an issue with cleanliness of the room and asked to be moved. Was accommodated with request to be moved but would rather not have had to move in the first place!

The food in the evening was good, as were the attentive staff. But the buffet breakfast needs improving; hotter, fresher cooked food would be appreciated, and more coffee available. Overall however, a pleasant, relaxed stay.
(99680527)

Not busy, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff.

Rooms are getting tired, sound insulation could be improved.

Purpose of visit was to meet family, the hotel was ideally suited to this. The bar and restaurant were friendly but not intimate, both areas lacked atmosphere which is a shame. The food was very good, the buffet style suited our requirements.
The room was comfortable but we did notice noise intrusion(banging firedoors). The lack of plug sockets was the only negative we had.
(99765810)

Pleasant aspect, modern clean lines and an appealing entrance. reception was excellent and all staff extremely helpful.

Piped music was intrusive. Lack of sockets in room.

The hotel was easy to find from the motorway and was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with all the facilities you would require for an overnight, stay as ours was.
(99843093)

Close to the motorway and easy to find, although not noisy

Security, we were greeted by a Police Officer telling us there had been a number of vehicle crimes in the area and told not to leave any valuables in the care.
Anonymous (Family with older children) 22 January 2007
Nice hotel - but what a shame there was smoking in the bar!!. The smell of smoke was rising up the stairs - quite revolting. I would have gone in for a drink but this put me right off. It was rather disconcerting to be met by a policeman on our arrival to be informed that car theft was rife...but at least it gave us the opportunity to remove all our belongings. The room was satisfactory for our 1 night stay. The evening meal was very nice but the service was very slow. Breakfast was good too....but again the service was very slow especially waiting for that good old pot of tea to arrive.

The hotel and room was clean and tidy and although I only stayed one night was certainly big enough with plenty of storage/hanging space for a longer stay. Complimentary tea/coffe. Reception staff were extremely helpful. Dining room well run. Helpful staff and well cooked food with excellent choice. Breakfast which was included in the price had a wide choice to suit all tastes. Plenty of car parking.

It was a pleasant hotel some way from the city centre the room was a little shabby but clean and comfortable. I got the impression it was mainly for business people and airport stop overs. However this did not affect our enjoyment. I would have liked to know a little more about transport into the city centre approximate prices distance from hotel etc. I chose this hotel because it had on site free parking, some of the city centre hotels didn't and were a lot more expensive. A bit of information about how much time was needed to visit places of interest would have been useful.
(3305193057)

It was reasonably priced and the food was good

It was some way to walk to the lift and there were no sky programmes except sport a movie channel would have been appreciated.
