very high standard furnishing, definately value for money

main window couldn't close properly, the room wasn't warm enough although the air condition was on all night
Anonymous (Solo leisure traveller) 18 November 2009
Enjoyed it as i went to visit my daughter on my own this time as my girlfriend couldn't make it. Probably wouldn't stay for breakfast next time though although it was nice.

Staff were excellent and the room was perfect. Close to the City centre and right by the Rock City concert venue.

Breakfast was a little over priced at £10.50 and the parking too came to £11 which bumped the price up a bit.

Efficient, well-run business hotel. Front desk responded well to a request to change booking dates. Staff generally were helpful and the location is excellent. Parking next door at discounted overnight rates is a definite plus.

When i arrived on Fri evening with my 14 yo son, to attend the National Schools Rowing Regatta,my stomach jumped when I saw all the various male groups around the hotel. It was obvious why they were in town! However, perhaps you have a seperate floor for your male only groups because we had two good nights sleep and I am grateful for that. Thankyou.

Would recommend as is situated in great area.Beautiful hotel in general, rooms stunning.
An altogether pleasent stay. Thank you
(107612602)

Pleasent staff beautiful entrance stunning room

on arriving, was asked for bank card used when making reservation in order to prove identity.Experienced slight embarrassment when card was declined as id taken all money from account for use on night out.
I was not made aware that the hotel would be charging £25 insurance for my stay until staff informed me when my card was declined, so had to pay in cash which then left me short for my stay.
Had i been made aware, I could have been spared the embarrassment of explaining my finacial situation.

Hotel good position,clean and tidy

As this was our anniversary my husband requested champagne and flowers in the room. They couldn't arrange flowers said he would need to do this himself with interflora - said they would supply champagne but never did - so dissapointing as far as customer relations were concerned.

the location, the cleanliness of the room, the fact that we got the no smoking room that we had requested.

we did think that parking should have been included in the price of the room, although we did receive a reduced rate.

Anonymous (Young couple) 14 June 2007
The hotel is a minutes walk from all the restuarants, bars and clubs and the room has everything you need for a comfortable nights stay, however the rooms did get rather hot and the blanklets on the bed were uncomfortable. Unfortunately upon our stay we didn't get to use the full facilities within the hotel for various reasons and therefore would advise any1 who is thinking of staying at this hotel to ensure they get there for check in time and do not leave until check out time to get the most for your money.

The blankets on the bed, upon arrival the receptionist did not tell me what she was doing. Didn't know until leaving that a payment hadn't been made.

It was close to the city centre. the staff were friendly and the rooms were very comfortable.

We wanted to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was too small and due to stag party being there was had to use the dining area. The snack menu wasnt great either so we ate out instead.
jane from Manchester, GB (Young couple) 14 March 2007
the hotel is described as city centre but it is at lease 15 minutes walk, from anything.
on complaining about the noise of the previous night we were told we should have complained then we could have changed rooms..... at 11pm at night !!
also that nottingham is a lively city particularly at the weekends !!! yes that maybe but does the hotel have to be so noisy. this completely ruined my stay
(99598755)

the bed room was lovely.

our room was next to a function room where the music was playing so loud we could not hear the tv in our room, this spoiled our quiet romantic night. the noise continued until 1.30 am
no breakfast included

As we have stayed at the Welbeck on a previous visit we knew what to expect. We feel that to be truly competitive Breakfast should be included in the price. A feature worthy of note however is the roof top bar. It's location, roof top views of the city, and the decor make it extremely pleasant. If re-visiting I would look for alternative car parking.

Hotel accomadtion of a very high standard.
The only major drawbacks was the cost of the car park( discount card of no use if staying overnight or longer) and the directions by road not detailed enough.
