Staff friendly and obliging; we were made to feel very welcome; beds were comfortable; good shower with hot water always available; particularly enjoyed dinner in the bar/restaurant - good food well cooked and pleasant waitress. Hotel is well sited in the town centre and surrounded by lovely scenery - ideal for walking.

Bedroom decor and fittings a little tired, but clean and comfortable. Parking in nearby public car park - can be difficult to find a space on arrival - but free with a voucher from reception.

Asked for something to be left for breakfast first night as we were going out early and nothing was, had to get breakfast at a local shop. Breakfast times 8:30-9:30 only very limited

An excellent stay in every way as can be seen from above. Have eaten in the Lion and used the bar facilities many times over the last twelve years or so while staying at the local caravan site but this is the first time I've stayed there. It will not be the last! A top class hotel in an excellent location. (3305404385)
