Excellent staff and service in general. Breakfast time is too short however the restaurant of the hotel servers a fantastic food.

The cramped room and the cramped bathroom. The smell in the room was really unpleasant. The view out of the small window was overlooking the top of the conservetory which was fithly and had empty plastic bottles lying there. The breakfasts were greasy and very little fresh fruit.

The room was small but had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were courteous and helpful. Everything was clean and tidy. A medium sized friendly hotel within 10 minutes walking distance of St Albans town centre. Would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to friends. Reasonable value for money. Not cheap but not overly expensive either..

Good facilities, restaurant, breakfast room etc. Close to town centre. The hotel had character.

Food can take a long time to arrive in the dining room - it would be fine if this were made clear at the outset - say advise clients to have a drink in the bar and tell them how long their meal will be so that you do not sit idle in the dining room for a long time uncertain when the meal will arrive - but otherwise everything was great. I shall certainly book again.

Staff very helpful and polite. There was a problem with the extractor fan which would not shut off and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. We requested more towels and got an immediate response. Information regarding directions and recommended restaurants was very accurate and helpful. Excellent breakfast.

We found the Hotel to be very warm and frendly

As we were lucky to have a family room for the two of us,which was great. We were not able to comment on the twin rooms

the hotel is ideally situated for the town centre and rail station to London which is only 20 minutes away. The staff are excellent and certainly put the customers first. It is in a quiet location but occasionannly a train can be heard passing by but it did not effect our sleep at all and was faint and over in a few seconds.

Convenient location, easy to get to, lots of parking spaces.

The evening meal menu was the same for the two evenings I dined in - could do with a bit more variety.

Overall a pleasnt stay, i would use this hotel again contrary to my earlier comments as it sure beats those characterless corporate hotels.

A quiet, family run style hotel. It was well located for my purposes in an attractive part of the town.

The hotel would benefit from being updated. Although clean it did feel a bit olde-worldy. The room clean was less than average, my bed was not made up after the first night and the room seemed to be given a 'quick wipe over' thereafter.
