in lobby,candles on tables in eve but not lit,fire in lobby not lit,good service from member of staff when eventually attended to.senior manager could do to take charge of the bar & restaurant area.

Very well presented hotel, beautiful furnishings, lovely room, nice & quiet, good location.

Appalling service at breakfast. No acknowledgement. Had to ask for menu, had to ask for order to be taken, had to ask for tea 3 times, toast never arrived. It wasn't even busy.

Staff extremely curtious,friendly & helpful. Room was very clean & spacious & beds turned down at night. Location great for Royal Mile, Theatre & Princess Street. (99471916)

Large and well-furnished rooms, well-maintained public spaces, polite and efficient staff.

Complimentary bathrobes had clearly been used by heavy smokers and had a very unpleasant smell of smoke to them. A late night fire alarm was a minor irritant but was handled efficiently and undramatically.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff and great location all added up to create the perfect weekend break. (2899224)
