Warmth of reception - owners present
Ambiance of the hotel - good preservation of the antiquity of the building

Excellent choice of beers
Very good carparking facilities

Despite the somewhat chaotic check-in and lack of dinner I was made most welcome and will stay at the hotel again when travelling in that direction.
(108090419)

Room was excellent and the whole ambience of the hotel very welcoming. Outside seating area on a nice summer's evening was very good. Good breakfast quickly served and freshly cooked with toast from delightful 'real' bread, not supermarket pap - far better than a buffet of shrivelled up bacon etc!

On the day I arrived the hotel was doing the outside catering for a civic event. There was no-one knowledgeable on reception and no dinner was being served that night. Surely it is not too difficult to put something on the hotel's website when normal service is being disrupted in this way? Nevertheless after I had made my displeasure known the staff could not have been more courteous and helpful. I had a very good dinner in a nearby Thai restaurant recommended by the hotel.

Very pleased with the hotel's ambience, a lovely building very well kept.
The food and wine were of a high standard and great value for money.
Would recommend this hotel.

comfortable, in a lovely room.

room was a little warm.

directions could have been clearer, naming the street to turn up after the garage. however, the friendliness and charm of the staff- particularly the owner- was excepional. she created quite a uniquely appealing atmosphere in the hotel..

loved the historic old inn

complicated tap system in the bath - however quickly sorted out with great good humour

This is the third time we've stayed at the Falcon hotel in the last year. Everything about the hotel is wonderful from the rooms, to the evening and breakfast menu's. Clean and friendly atmosphere and a great selection of quality wines. We'll definately be going back!

Interesting history of hotel and character

some problems with heating and staffing levels
Anonymous (Group of adult friends) 25 May 2007
A hotel full of character. The bedroom was very clean, especially the bed linen. Some problem with the plumbing.
Do not stay here if you want a quick getaway in the morning!
(99572505)

Very comfortable bed and clean white linen.
Olde World, plenty of character.

Water from the hand basin came up into the bath.
Lager in the bar was flat.
Service at breakfast a bit slow,

Availibility of parking.

The room was cramped and noisy.
Anonymous (Solo leisure traveller) 09 May 2007
The hotel was understaffed. They had two functions on and were unable to cope with residents' needs.
(99811451)

My room smelt of damp.

A friendly, distinctive hotel, easy to find, with a relaxed feel. Informative hosts, keen to make us feel welcome. Unable to comment on the evening food, but the breakfast was fine.

Nothing - We like an element of surprise. The big surprise was the fact that the head chef was ill. The substitutes performed quite well. Web Discounts could possibly have been supplied for longer stays.
(99779240)

Good sized room, clean, comfortable and quiet.

Pathetic lighting (energy saving bulbs) preventing reading in the room after 'dark'. Heating - until extra heater supplied.

Old building and very nice interiors

Room wasn't clean enough (dust all over TV etc) and staff wasn't helpful as well.

We really enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to stay in such an old and charming building. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and it was lovely to come across such a lovely quiet place that was so different and not like some of the large chain hotels. We would definitely stay again.
(99048542)

Hotel was very clean, comfortable and relaxed. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. General feeling very relaxed and the building itself was charming and different.

Nothing really, bathroom decor perhaps a bit tired but very clean and the towels and linen very clean also.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. they made sure that you were comfortable. Food is very resonably price and of good quality.
However due to the age of the building it may be difficult for older visitors as the stairs particularly for the rooms on the top floor are narrow and steep.
(99476281)

The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. It had most of the features a business traveller would need.

Access up the stairs would have been difficult for those who are not as fit.

We had a very relaxing break. The Sunday lunch was delicious, highly recommended. I havent had beef that good for many years.
(3304893167)

Beautiful very old building. Food was good, staff friendly.

We were up 3 flights of stairs in a smallish but very characterful room at the front. There was a noisy late bar in the street below. When we paid there was an unexpected discount given to us to reflect this.

Interesting old building, and a comfortable feel to the place. Not for someone who likes modern, tidy rooms and perhaps not for tall people - some of the rooms have very low ceilings! The bed was comfortable, all the facilities worked and the cooking is excellent. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.
(3304964418)

Superb food, including homemade bread and icecream, and wine at a very reasonable cost.

Nothing
Anonymous (Group of work colleagues) 26 July 2006
As above. The stay was marred by the Restaurant being closed. Happily, we were able to transfer our party to a very local Indian Restaurant, which served super food, at very reasonable prices. However, that is not quite the point!
(3304929694)

Charming, quaint Hotel, which was steeped in history and had lots ot character.

Having booked an evening meal for 6 people,I was annoyed to find that the Restaurant had been closed for refurbishment. We were not informed until our arrival.

The only poblem, which was not really a problem as there is an exellent bus service, is that I should have checked how far away from Herefiord Bromyard is.

we enjoyed the stay. the staff were friendly, but one member, although charming did occassionally forget things, Service sometimes a bit slow but maybe that was part of the charm and it was Bromyard!! which maybe the modern pace of life as left behind!!!

Old world small family run hotel with interesting bathrooms.Ample car parking as long as the hotel is not running an event. Owners into theatrics so events nights will be busy. The owners are welcoming and the restaurant offers a short menu of good interesting food. The bar stocks local and national beers as well as wines and spirits.Competitively priced.

Overall friendliness of the hotel making you feel a guest not a visitor.Historic hotel in a nice town at a friendly price.

The hotel was exactly as I expected and the service was excellent. We enjoyed its location on the main High Street and the character of the interior of the hotel. The breakfast was beautifully cooked, there was a good variety and it was received very quickly. The homemade bread was especially enjoyable. The extra attention to detail such as the toiletries and tissues in the bedrooms and extra touches on the breakfast table made the stay more enjoyable. The staff were helpful and very friendly.
