2 members of our party have stayed in Best westerns recently (in past 2 years) and have been really disappointed in them so this one was a real delight in pleasant surroundings and the staff could not have been more helpful

- Decor outdated which gave impression of shabbiness and darkness - Far too small and cramped - threadbare carpets - rotting window panes - single glazing - mildew on bathroom ceiling - limescale all over bathroom taps - only 5 channels out of the 8 or 9 listed could actually be received and each one of these was a fuzzy reception - stains on carpet - bedside lamp was crushed (as if someone had fallen on it)

After booking the hotel we recieved email confirmation but on arrival we were then informed that we could'nt dine in the resturant as there was a wedding and that we may find the bar area very busy for a drink and so advised to go to the pub across the road.We felt we should have been told at the time of booking that the facilities were unavailable for us to use and even though the public house was ok it was'nt the style of place we would normally use by choice.We would only use the hotel again if we were sure that we could use the facilities that we had paid for. The room was excellent and facilities were first class...

The room was excellent, however found that it was hard to sleep as the room is above the bar so had people laughing and joking until about 1:00am in the morning...

We were well looked after on most occasions but the service was rather slow on Sunday night. The back door to the hotel should have been shut Sunday evening as it caused quite a draft into both the bar/lounge & the restaurant.Staff seemed slow to recognise the cause of the draft( more like a gale, at times). We throughly enjoyed our stay and even booked to stay an extra night on the Sunday. One of our party was disabled and after booking online, the hotel rang next day to see if there was anything they could do to make his stay easier, including changing his room so it was nearer the main hotel. The food and service was excellent and the staff were very friendly, helpful and very efficient. Although we were not aware the accomodation was situated a short walk from the hotel, the rooms were surrounded by lovely gardens and very quiet. (3305191049)

We were very pleased with the room - they were a good size with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. It was great that armchairs were provided so you didn't have to sit on the bed all the time as is usually the case. The bathroom was a good size with a good supply of toiletries.

A welcoming hotel backed up by friendly and efficient staff. The room was very clean and was adequate for our needs although we do not remember noticing from the website that the rooms would be separate from the hotel itself. It was disappointing that there was no fridge in the room especially with the current hot weather.
