staying overnight on 30 november I was charged 17.5%vat on car parking and breakfast which in effect took place on Monday 1 december when the vat rate had fallen to 15%. The separation of room and breakfast charges disguises the fact that the hotel is quite expensive for a suburban location and for the standard of hotel.

We requested an extra sheet and it arrived in minutes. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable.We almost always stay in Premier Inns because we know the standard can be relied on to give us a pleasant and comfortable night.

We thought the price for carparking very expensive. We sat in the lounge to read our newspapers,and found that not only was the TV talking to itself but there was piped music playing quite loudly so the clash of sounds was awful. What's wrong with silence occasionally?

Simple effective booking procedure - I particularly liked the fact that as a single female traveller room number details were discreetly handed over. Please retain this. Not made to feel uncomfortable in the restaurant either as a single diner.

The menu is quite expensive in comparison with other restaurants in the locality but was of good quality. No duck in the bathroom (Lenny Henry gets one!!)

A much improved hotel, sensibly priced, in a convenient location where there aren't many others. It wasn't perfect (the outside of the building itself is a tribute to stalinistic architects and to the ready-mixed concrete industry) but it's fine inside and exceeded our expectations. (99574684)

Having stayed in this hotel over many years have noticed a deterioration in services. Namely reduction in soap facillities and teas & coffees. This may seem minor but it's indicative of how the service is slowly deteriorating whilst prices rise.

We were on the sixth floor and the shower was terrible

All of the staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean, and I enjoyed two undisturbed nights of sleep. This was especially good as was having laser eye surgery nearby and needed good rest both before and after my operation. (99548706)

As above, I stay in Premier Inn's regularly for business. This was one of the worst, but to be fair is probably one of the oldest too. Bed was uncomfortable and traffic noise was disturbing. The accommodation was good but the bar and dining experience at night was terrible with a waiter with a bad understanding of English. The chef was playing around in the bar.
