No welcome when entered the restaurant, had to wait circa 5 minutes before young girl greeted us and lack of knowledge of the menu

It would have been nice to know that building works were being carried out and that there was no lift. (99237943)

The downstairs areas were newly refurbished, clean and modern, while still feeling homely.

There was a lot of repair work going on (to the outside of the buildings) and the showers were very slow and not very warm. The water system needs an over haul. When I arrived there was only 1 person attending the bar, serving food, taking orders, checking people in and out etc I ordered a greek salad (no cooking) and it took 25 minutes to arrive. The waiter did say it would be a few minutes when she took my order but that seemed excessive.

I think the breakfast let this hotel down big time. The hotel is very charming with a nice ambience and lovely views. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room had lots of character (99489269)

The atmosphere

cooked Breakfast was a lot to be desired. Fried bread tasted disgusting, beans were over cooked.

The hotel is beautiful and sits right on the beach. The room I stayed in was competely renovated and modern, and is significantly larger and nicer than rooms around the same price that I stayed in elsewhere in Kent. The Deal train station is a 5-10 minute walk away and is easily accessed. (2334692)
