The room was very clean and the staff were friendly. The location was perfect for my visit. My wife ans I enjoyed the bar and other facilities.

On Saturday night(15th November 08) I was unable to use the car park as an event was taking place within the hotel. The car park was packed with the visitors cars and a tour bus.

Beds were comfortable and family room was well laid out.

The hotel generally and our room in particular were very hot. The heating was off in the room but the communal areas on the second floor were stifling. We had to ask for a fan for the room.

Radiator was stone cold on 1st night,it was fixed next day,after we complained, but it was far too hot on our 2nd morning,& there was no way of turning it down as there was no thermostat.No windows would open. Heated towel rail was cold the whole time. Shower was boiling hot & no way of adjusting the temperature.

So that was a misunderstanding on my part as i had given credit card details thinking it was payed for. Cleaners weren't as good as they should have been a couple of spills on the desk that would have taken a second to wipe were left. Service in the restaraunt at breakfast was good as always, however on reception service was poor with staff that have poor English language and understanding of customer needs. The phrase you get what you pay for is quite true in the case of this hotel. We didn't pay that much so I don't think we really expected all that much. The hotel is well presented in terms of it's Reception area and bar but the rooms are small and basic and the bed was increadibly uncomfortable. The hotel is in need of some redecoration, and areas of carpet are now showing extended signs of wear. The rooms were adequately clean, but there were 'cobwebs' on the higher corners of the window, just little things and not any real problems. I would recommend the hotel, on price, food, and staff. The hot full English breakfast was cold so I only had it once. The stairs were difficult for me and the bed uncomfortable, so much so that I only slept there 2 nights out of the 4 that I booked. The accomodation (especially the bathroom) was rather tatty. The kettle had been washed out with soap and the water from it tasted bad. Wardrobe door rattled. The step into the bathroom was only marked inside the bathroom and this nearly caused an accident, not good for guests in a strange room at night. I would only stop at a 'Comfort Hotel' in the future if there was no where else to go,. Not a good experience at all and as far as I am concerned it was far too expensive for what I got. Happy with accommodation. Breakfast was a bit chaotic. There were no plates, no glasses - had to keep asking for things and the staff were rushing around Fawlty Towers style. I was very impressed with this hotel. The information was correct. The staff were very helpful and efficient. The food was well cooked and there was plenty of it. The attituide and friendliness of the staff

No air conditioning in the room, although I did get a fan when I asked for one.

We did not ask at the reception desk but it would have been helpful if there was a small map of where the underground station was, we found it eventually even after we found some signs we still had quite bit of walking about but each time we went to the station we found a slightly easier and shorter way, around ten minutes walk.it was very good being able to park and leave the car at the hotel free of charge.
