Very old building with few amenities. The room was overlooking a main road so we found it difficult to sleep at night. Small breakfast room with not much choice for breakfast.

A very nice hotel and the staff was very friendly. It's night across the street from Hyde Park and barely 1/2 mile from Paddington station, so you're near transportation. The continental breakfast was quite lacking (sour milk, stale bread), but other than that, the hotel was very nice. (99308160)

The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and we were delighted to be given an upgrade to a suite. The public rooms and suite were very well presented and full of olde world English charm. My husband said he kept expecting Sherlock Holmes to drop in. However, the corridors and lift, which were rather worn and tatty. There was great attention to detail in the suite, although we were sad to find no tea/coffee making facilities. We slept well and enjoyed an adequate continental breakfast. The hotel is in an excellent position , with Hyde Park only a couple of minutes walk away and a tube station just across the road. (3304695875)

The hotel was clean and near to Lancaster gate tube station. The staff were polite and friendly. In spite of London pricing the hotel was not over the top in its charges for the bar and the meals. If you are going to an event in Hyde Park this is probably the best hotel you can get for the money. I would gladly use this hotel again. (3304381374)

It was close to the events we were going to see and incurred no travelling expenses to get to them.

The rooms had no air conditioning and during what was probably the hottest weekend of the year were unbareably hot. We had initially requested a smoking room but it was only a few hours after we had checked in that we discovered we had been a given a no smoking room. An alternative room could not be found until the following morning.

Great Room, lots of character

We didn't stay there long enough!

Overall the accomodation was adequate. The staff were more than helpful and friendly and no fault of there own about the squeaky fan and alarm. I would consider staying again, as long as the minor hiccups have been addressed. In all fairness to the staff, we did not state our concerns during our visit and won't hold it against the Hotel. Convenient location and very friendly staff.

Room was very hot, no tea or coffee in the room and the ceiling fan was extremely loud and squeaky. Also the fire alarm kept going off in the middle of the night , though there was no cause for alarm.

This is my 6th stay at The London Elizabeth, I never want to stay anywhere else. I now feel that it is my home away from home. Staying there has become a must on my visits back home to England. All of the staff is extremely courteous friendly and can and will answer any question you may have. I have found this true with all employess, no matter what their duties are. The oddest scrambled egg we've ever had at breakfast! At dinner the bread roll didnt arrive until starter was finished. We asked if there were any vegetables with our sausage & mash and the waitress didnt know! She finally brought a bowl of salad after we'd finished eating. We had expected better. The hotel was excellent. I paid £20 for a room upgrade. It was worth the money. I am not sure I would pay it again though for just one night. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room which is very bad. And room service breakfast at £9 is expensive, when you take into account the fact that you have already paid for breakfast anyway. Overall though the hotel was excellent. It did not bother me or my wife, but, it is on a very busy junction of the bayswater road. It may bother people if they need it to be quiet. You may be able to request a room at the back? The booking system failed due to 'computer problems' and the Hotel had to find me alternative accomodation. They did this efficiently and in a friendly manner, using a potential problem and making it an opportunity to do well. The alternative hotel was fine. Note that scores given for the room, cleanliness etc given above had to be completed to make the review valid - these are based on previous visits. It was the first time that we had stayed in a London Hotel. We picked the hotel based on other reviews on this site. I can say that we were not disappointed. The hotel is an ideal location for exploring central London, especially with Lancaster Gate tube station being just around the corner. It was also a pleasure to walk through Hyde Park to the Royal Albert Hall and on to the Natural History Museum. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was well furnished but we found it was very warm. Although this may have something to do with the unseasonaly warm weather we experienced during our stay rather than excessive heating by the hotel. There was also traffic noise, but this is only to be expected when staying in London. We hope to visit London again next year and will have no hesitation in booking our stay at the London Elizabeth Hotel. (2789652)
