Probably the most homely hotel I have ever stayed in
roger from west clandon, GB (Mature couple) 30 October 2009
Met our purpose of a walking break for 2/3 days in the Cotswolds. Happy to eat in, which is important in a fairly isolated location.
(108159003)

Lovely setting. Comfortable ambience. Good-sized room, with good bed. Easy parking. Good restaurant, reasonable wine prices. Gardens.

Bathroom small. Inadequate shower. Limited TV channels

The hotel itself was outstanding with breadth taking views of the surrounding countryside. The review on the website and the pictures did not do it justice. The restaurant food was excellent.
We shall be staying there again.

I thouhgt the property was well represented. I expected a little better view from the rooms. Loved the 3 very friendly cats.
(3304432174)

All the amenities that would be expected, bountiful breakfasts and beautiful gardens and views. So English, yet modern. Friendly staff. Execellent, appropriately formal dnners.

Very hard to find - it's off the beaten path - a real find, once you get there.
Desmond from wrexham, United Kingdom;GB (Solo leisure traveller) 01 March 2006
The hotel was set in a very picturesque location with wonderful views. The cuisine was excellent. But due to a wedding in progress there was virtually no seating available in the lounge or bar. The exact location would have been useful as the hotel was difficult to find.
(3304257844)

The setting and grounds and the food was excellent.

It was slightly hard to find as the turn off is very sudden and we sailed straight past. Stupidly I'd forgotten to take the directions, so we just carried on up the hill till we found another sign further along. I was impressed when we did finally find it - the hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. I didn't know when I booked that the hotel is meant to have a ghost - it certainly wasn't in evidence. I felt that a lot of care had been taken generally(they seemed to be refurbishing some of the rooms). We had a bar meal on the evening we arrived and it all seemed very fresh. Canapes arrived as we were waiting for our food. There was a nice choice for breakfast, which was very well cooked and presented. I felt like my every want had been anticipated and would certainly go back to this hotel (and stay for longer!)
(1994430)

The views are amazing! I was very impressed with the standard of the room and general cleanliness of the room.

We asked for a non-smoking room, but noticed a full ashtray on the outside window sill.

covered above - unwelcoming arrival/check-in. good fireside to sit, read, have afternoon cream tea. It was my fiancee's b'day but the things i had mentioned in the email were not acted upon. views great from room but cramped. good menu, wine list and service. fine breakfast. poor shower - temperature, lack of power. As a 'value break' - ok'; as something special - as i hoped i had indicated, then nothing to amke us feel more than just some more guests.

views. food. general ambience. fireside, and afternoon tea.

We were looking for a country house hotel in which we could completely relax and get 'away from it all'. We certainly found this in this hotel. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional and the room was very welcoming and comfortable.

The hotel is in a large period house thoughfully modernised and redecorated. Cosetting and relaxing the panelled bar area with open fire and the food in the restaurant were definate highlights. A faultless weekend.

Lovely traditional converted manor house with high standard of traditional decor in bedrooms and public rooms. Small (20 room) hotel with relaxing atmosphere, but some may find it lacking in facilities compared with modern, larger hotels (e.g. has an outdoor pool, but only open in summer). Food is very good, and while not cheap is good value (3 course dinner with coffee £26.50, wine from £16 upwards).

The people at Burleigh Court clearly understand how to run a top-quality hotel with an eye for detail: a warm, personal welcome, spacious & luxurious & clean rooms, beautiful food, great outdoor pool, fantastic views and excellent service.
It exceeded all our expectations. Everything was just spot on: a treasure we will certainly come back to.
Compliments to the staff, the chef & his team and the gardener(s)!

Really received the red carpet treatment, which appeared to be the norm for this hotel. Really very much impressed by the sevice, facilities, food, decoration and garden. It's good to see that this kind of quality still exists!

No bad points at all. Only brownie-points.
