Overall the accommodation offered good value. The reception staff were very smart and helpful but the fact they were behind glass and had to communicate through a microphone and speaker was a little bizare. The room had a well worn bed sit feel to it with built in kitchenette but was clean as were the toilets and showers. The position of the hotel was close to the main shops but was a bit of a drag to the lanes and main pier. Despite the relative low cost of the rooms and the large size of the hotel and the type of accommodation it offered there was very little noise from other guests. (49381757)

The room was clean but a little shabby. The cost was good compared to other accommodation in the area. Check in staff were friendly and helpful.

The toilets and showers were shared, which was known prior to booking but the toilet was very tiny and very cramped. The lift was also very small and cramped.

we booked a double room for me and my wife and a single for her father. we explained that i have only 20% hearing and almost deaf her dad is partly deaf and they upgraded us so we were on same floor next to each other. (2777328)

I was pleased to get in at short notice for one night, kindly extended by reception to three nights. I am most grateful.

The lift is too noisy if your room is next to it! En suite facilities should be extended, certainly to double rooms which have room for a shower/toilet.

The hotel was adequate for our needs however the lack of en suite bathroom facilities proved a problem. As we booked the hotel through your website and not directly with the abbey hotel it would have been nice to be informed at some stage, even on the website, of the lack of such facilities as had we known this we would have payed slightly more( around an extra £12 per night) to stay in a travel lodge. However apart from this one slight issue the hotel was fine for a young couple such as me and my partner. (2729846)

THE PLACE WAS QUIET FOR THE DURATION OF MY STAY

IT IS IMPORTANT IN FUTURE TO ENSURE THAT YOU DO NOT USE UNCLEAN DUVETS, INSIDE CLEAN COVERS. THE DUVETS ON THE BEDS WERE NOT CLEAN. ALSO ENSURE THAT CARPETS IN ROOMS ARE AS CLEAN. SOME OF THE MILK FOR TEA HAD GONE BAD BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE TRAY AND YET THERE WAS A FRIDGE IN THE ROOM.

THe hotel was clean and tidy,s the staff were friendly, a little disspointed on the lack of parking facilities and the time of arrival period , but overall we had an enjoyable stay (2626158)

More detailed instructions in the room on how to use some of the facilities (particularly getting the hot water to work on the shower)

Would probably shop around before booking this hotel again; bear in mind that there seem to be quite a number of competitors in Brighton offering the same sort of prices - revamping the decor would give this hotel the edge. (2634172)

Basic but very good value for money; had fridge, microwave and kettle in the room + wash basin, and complementary coffee - not what you would expect for a mere £25/night.

Rooms and corridors are in dire need of a paintjob; the carpets have seen better days too and the lift is quaint but could also do with an update.
