Good breakfast, Good prices, prime location.

Poor sound proofing. Rooms noisy and a bit too warm. Bed was not very comfortable.

Staff very approachable and pleasant.
Very clean and tidy with pleasant surroundings

This was the august bank holiday and as such a scooter rally was taking place. Much of the car park of the hotel was given over to a marquee which reduced the available parking. My car was hit by a driver unknown and the hotel CCTV did not cover the area of the car park I was parked in.

Adequate

Hotel decor is dated, the girl checked us in after telling us to get a drink in the bar while she tried to do 2-3 other jobs. Barman was on his own so took along time to get the drink we didn't want. Breakfast room could do with some background music or even local radio playing quietly. I have never stayed in a Hotel that dose not offer butter with breakfast (Flora only)!

Adequate and fair value for money, the breakfast menu could be scrutinised more closely for items were missing on the menu as described.e.g. HerringS,there was only one.Black pudding was listed as part of the full english breakfast, but there was none.Enjoyed our stay nonetheless.

Adequate for our needs, but not outstanding

Could do with a bit of refurbishing, decor wise,a coat of paint would help

Large clean room with all facilities and lovely view. Staff very friendly.

Could be a little noisey due to Hover craft. But did not spoilt holiday

We were offered a four poster bedroom with lush drapes which probably appeals to many but didnt suit us, partly because of the intense heat at the time. However no problem as we immediately got the choice of an alternative room at the back which was much more light and airy. Apart from the noise the accommodation was comfortable and well serviced. It was very clean but well overdue for redecoration - wallpaper lifting and paint flaking, one bedside lamp not wkg and toilet flush slightly tempramental but we didnt fuss as we were only staying two nights. What stood out was the food in the brasserie - excellent in every respect including the choice, catering standard, attentive service and the very pleasant historic setting. It would have been nice to play piano in brasserie but it was badly out of condition! Car parking easy and well organised, and hotel pleasantly located out of crowded town centre but within convenient walking. Overall we were very pleased and would come back.

Good choice offered; flexible positive response when we asked for change of room

Converted area of building rather lacking in sound insulation from adjacent bathrooms and corridors - disturbed nights

I think that this hotel has great potential. But there were lots of things that could be improved. The toilet next to the diningroom had a loose seat and did not flush. When we asked if we could order something, we were asked to order at the bar, and people around us could order the food at their table. When we ordered cappucino and caffee latte, we were given a strange type of milky coffee, without foamy milk. When we asked for better coffee, we were told that the coffee machine broke down and that they could not make cappucino. Why not be honest about it in the first place instead of serving srange coffee? The coffee machine was broken for days. Why not fix it within one day? The food in the hotel was plain and not fresh. Fajitas were pancakes with only a few mushrooms inside and served with mayonnaise(!). there was a salad without dressing and for desert we took appelpie that had a dry and hard crust and tasted weeks old. very disappointing.

The room was small and the decor was sombre. The TV reception was bad initially but was rectified by the staff. The bathroom was small with a small corner shower. The hotel needs some redecoration. Given this was the best room in the hotel, the experience was disappointing.

Friendly, spotless, quality fitments, fab food.

None at all highly recommended, we stayed at 4 3/4* hotels during our week break and the Ryde Castle far exceeded the others!
