The hotel was excellant value for money and the service from the manager and staff brilliant would definately stay again.

Staff were helpful and friendly but unable to alleviate the poor quality of the rooms etc.

I was given a room in an annex to the hotel, The approaches were dirty and unswept. The lock on the door did not work and had to be removed and repaired. The lock was loose throughout. The interior of the room was gloomy and needed painting etc. The bar had no red wine' because I don't have the key to open the place where the bottles are situated, and no-one else has a key'.

Very Good Value Hotel suitable for a 1-2 night stay
Anonymous (Family with older children) 17 August 2008
Would not stay again or recommend due to above points but cheaper than some surrounding hotels.
(107297566)

The staff were very friendly and couldnt be more helpful.

Hotel in general state of disrepair and needed decorating, mould in room, wallpaper peeling, shower did not work properly, bath panel hanging off, etc.

was good value for money. staff helful and always ready with a smile. nothing was too much trouble. only problem was the wedding noise and we could not be moved as the hotel was full.
(99075587)

all staff except the chef were helpful and pleasant.

poor pillows and none spare. family room aboe the conference centre where they held a wedding night party. no one in their right mind would put family rooms in this area. there is nothing worse than tired and upset children not being able to go to sleep.i would stay at this hotel again, but would first check they had no other events on
Anonymous (Solo leisure traveller) 09 June 2008
It was a quick over night stay. If I needed to stay longer I would have moved out after the first night.
(97353067)

Staff [if you could find them] were polite.

The hotel should be demolised and replaced. It does very little for the Stop Inn brand.

it is on the doorstep of our friends /family the bads are clean

the building and furnishing is in bad state of repair. the carpets are threadbare and the wall paper is coming off the walls the water supply comes out so slow we could not bath . overall it needs money spent on it to bring it in line with the other overnight staying places

As this hotel was to accomodate a young group of 7 people the rooms provided were good enough for an overnight stay. We had four rooms two were more dated than others but all had TV, kettle with complementary tea and coffee. Bathrooms need updating but overall a clean room. For the price you pay you cant complain - so if you want something posh you will have to put your hands in your pockets :) (also McDonalds is 2mins away on same street!)

I had all information required whilst booking. The customer service is exceptional (based upon 2 visits). The rooms are a little small and they should clean under the beds. It would be good to have some sort of loyalty scheme. Overall a good hotel and I would recommend this hotel to friends.
(99800314)

The staff attitude, very impressed.

Some lightS in our room didn't work. The hall smelt of damp and for the second time staying at the hotel, we found that there was rubbish underneath the bed which means that they only only do minimum cleaning.
Philip from Cambridge, United Kingdom;GB (Solo business traveller) 27 February 2007
The hotel is a great cheap place to stay in Stoke. Friendly staff, good service, breakfast was better than average for this type of accomodation. If I had to find fault the decor in the rooms was very outdated especially the bathroom, and the WiFi was expensive for casual use.
(99547560)

Clean and functional, everything worked, nice and warm.

Not so much a dislike as an observation, but the hotel is a bit dated, although redecoration was in progress.
Roy from Duxford, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 04 January 2007
Overall, a pleasant stay. Breakfast was excellent - on new Years Day as well! No evidence of any hangovers! The bathroom's decor in our room was in poor condition but despite that, it was very clean and well stocked. The room was a good size and clean and well stocked woth tea etc.
It was good value for money and all the staff were very friendly.

Decor rather dated and in poor condition in places

Would have liked to know that we were not staying in the main hotel but across in annexe rooms. They have parking for women customers right outside reception yet our room was over the car park in a dark area.

It was dated need a good lick of paint the bar area wasnt like a bar basically the overall place once past the reception was just like a hostel, there was some goings on (which looked very dodgy) between bar staff and members of the public (which from what we could gather were staying there as a permanent base)

My daughter and I were visiting local universities and needed a bed for the night. The Stop Inn was very convenient and easy to find. The receptionist was very friendly. The room was clean although the decor in the room and the colour of the bathroom were a bit dated
(3305237111)

Good value for money.

Fan in bathroom very noisy.
Adele from Chatham, United Kingdom;GB (Group of adult friends) 05 July 2006
The room was dated and the lock did not work and we did not feel safe. There was sick outside our room when we arrived which had not been cleaned up still when we left. We went in the summer and room was so hot you were unable to sleep. The bed had an old blanket and sheet. Sky TV was an extra 3 channels which is a bit mis-leading as we thought we were going to have cable tv. The first impression when we arrived we were so disappointed from the reviews we had read, the only thing i can say was the room was clean. As this hotel was part of a chain we thought the standard would be much higher and the rooms to be in this century.
(3304597823)

The room was clean.

The room temperature in the room was terrible, it was so hot. No air conditioning, no fan nothing.
Nicu from Doncaster, United Kingdom;GB (Mature couple) 05 July 2006
Overall the accomodation was fairly good and the staff pleasant and helpful. However, the only inconvenience was that the carvery was delayed by one hour which unfortunately coincided with the quarter finals of the World Cup, which meant that we had to forego the carvery and order a takeaway.
