Good
Charlotte from Leamington Spa, GB (Young couple) 02 September 2008

Fairly nice hotel but room was a disappointment. (107256528)

positive comments Friendly, professional staff. Pleasant gardens. Nice bathroom.
negative comments Room was smaller than expected, directly overlooking the back kitchen entrance & bins which was not pleasant. When windows were opened the cigarette smoke from staff smoking out the back came in throught the windows. The full english breakfast could have been of a higher standard.
Excellent
LYNDA from NOTTINGHAM, GB (Mature couple) 05 August 2008

Although we appreciated efforts made to compensate us for not getting room we had booked, we were disappointed. It was our pearl wedding anniversary and meant to be really special. Liked hotel in many ways but that and very cramped tables in the evening would put me off returning I think. (108010915)

positive comments room and facilities very comfortable. Free bottle of champagne to compensate for not getting executive room we had booked appreciated. breakfast fab.
negative comments not getting executive room we had booked. hearing different excuses as to why this occurred made us suspect over booking? evening meal very enjoyable but tables very cramped: felt like we were eating with people on adjoining table. Meant we didn't want to stay for dessert or coffees.

Adequate accomodation but good service. (107112204)

positive comments Dinner was excellent and very filling. Breakfast plentiful.
negative comments Room very tired looking, Carpet quite stained. We booked an excecutive for something special and it wasn't.

could be a very nice hotel with a bit of up-dating in the bedrooms and better staff training. (108090705)

positive comments breakfast staff very friendly.near to Slimbridge
negative comments no towels/bathmat/iron/ in executive room. asked a member of staff but only supplied with 3 bathtowel. web site states robes should have been available as well.jaccuzzi was missing a nozzle, water spouted all over bathroom.

It is a lovely hotel we enjoyed our overnight stay there. apart from the above issues mentioned. The young ladies in reception were very polite and apologetic. We have recommended it to others. (99787567)

positive comments Thoughtfulness of tea/coffee/hotchocolate/water/sweets in room.Excellent breakfast/ very comfortable room.
negative comments Bumping heads on sloping ceiling! Perhaps that should be in a stronger colour to make it more conspicuous, NO hot water in the morning. Offered morning paper and it didn't arrive, no Bitter in bar!

Immediately felt at home. If weather fine can enjoy a drink on the lawns looking out over splendid scenery. (If it rained you could sit in the bar and look out over the same scene.) Restaurant serves high quality cuisine. Substantial breakfasts, if desired. Excellent base for touring the Cotswolds. (3304867388)

positive comments Beautiful traditional hotel, ideally situated overlooking the Severn valley, not far from motorway, yet deep in the countryside.
negative comments No problems; our stay was perfect.

Very good start to the stay, courtsey call to se if we wanted to book dinner for the evening as it was quite booked up. This was very good idea as this hotel is well away from the nearest village. Staff on the phone was very discreat as this was a suprise visit and only spoke to me, Very nice touch! I did read the reviews myself and found the hotel to be a very nice stay, but I should of listend to the advice and gone continental for breakfast. It was a bit on the dry side, but on a good point breakfast ws on until 10am which is nice on a luxury break. I would stay again. (3304367900)

positive comments nice size room, great bathroom.
