Standard of restaurant service was poor Having to get up with a cup to pour your own coffee/ tea instead of being served at least that. food was of poor quality and cold.

Although the linnen was clean the bedspread was extreemly grubby. This has been the case on a previous occasion. We did not mention it to the staff this time but still feel that the bedspreads should be thoroughly checked and cleaned. It did make the room feel a little grubby which was a shame.

I would recommend the Britania if you are over 80 years old,have a desire to stay in a hotel that has the corridors from 'The Shining' and the entertainment of 'The Phoenix club'. (108082984)

The lifts were far too small considering the average size of the guests. The bed was barely big enough for Bilbo Baggins. The kettle smelt of cardboard.

Cleanliness of room was poor and not properly vacuumed and dusted. Decoration was porr with wallpaper hanging off in many areas. Bedding was a little dubious, a few cigarette burns in covers, a thin blanket that looked a few years past its sell-by date. Generally disappointed with the decor throughout the hotel.

we were only staying at the hotel for 1 night as we were travelling to cornwall the next day my main concern was that my wife and i got very little sleep because of the noise coming from the ajoining room ie:- music slamming of doors numerous people in the room coming and going all night long, some thing that your night manager should have put a stop to as they were obviously coming and going from the hotel all night. on the plus side the room was nice and clean, breakfast was extrem ly good (99741707)
