The hotel itself was good and I have found fault however I was diappointed with my meal, I had lamb in sauce and the sauce was inedible,(even the chef agreed) however I was not given a replacement meal just advised that I would not be charged for the excess and would not be charged for coffee. This spoilt the evening for me and I went to bed hungry. We were also considerable overcharged at the bar on 2 occassions, we paid cash and did not charge it to our rooms, if we had have done it would have been more difficult to sort out in the morrning. This hotel provides good value for money, and is handy when visiting the nearby attractions such as alton towers. The pool is quite large and spotlessly clean, however, the gym would benefit from better air conditioning and some new machines. As regards the restaurant, the first night (Tues 30th May) the staff were absolutely brilliant, attentative, friendly and very polite, we really did feel as though we were of utmost importance to them. On the other hand the team working the second night placed us on a table in the corner and then neglected to even offer us bread or drinks until we asked one of them after waiting 25 minutes. In stark contrast to the first night, they couldn't seem to care less, exemplified by the wait for the drinks and the fact our table was only half set, when they seated us (eventhough there were any number of tables available). The food was pleasant enough and the set menu provided good value for money. The breakfast was very nice, with a good selection. The room was large, clean and spacious, with a large TV and efficient air conditioning. The bathroom was also quite large and clean. Overall I would recommend this hotel, it is nice a four star hotel, the only problem being the restaurant staff on certain nights. (3304780433)

positive comments The room was spacious, clean and tidy and the music in the bathroom was a particularly nice touch. On our first night eating in the restaurant (Tues 30th May) the staff were nothing but polite, courteous, attentative and friendly, meaning that we really enjoyed the meal, which was good value for money. The pool was spotless and quite large.
negative comments For a four star hotel, the gym is a little disappointing, it would benefit from better air conditioning, and needs updating. The hotel bar doesn't have a lot of atmosphere, but that is probably due to the design and layout and the fact we were mid-week, rather than the staff. In stark contrast to our first night, the second night (wed 31st May) of our stay we found the restaurant staff (a different team) to be quite ignorant and did not enjoy the meal at all.

We decided to escape for the night as it was my BIG Birthday and the chap from Reservations upgraded our room. We had a Special Offer of bed breakfast and dinner which was outstanding value. Nothing was too much trouble and the food and atmosphere was great. The pool and facilities were excellent and I would definetly recommend this hotel. We will be back! (3304005923)

Very nice hotel of a good standard with a very pleasant leisure facility. The restaurant was the only area that I could find fault in. (2963536)

positive comments Very clean and well presented rooms. Overall standard of hotel very nice indeed.
negative comments The restaurant was not as nice as I would have expected, although the food was fantastic, the restaurant itself had a breakfast room feel to it that could have been improved on had it had lower lighting.

The only thing we could fault with this hotel was the size of the room. The bed was very close to the wall on one side. This meant that there was no bedside table on that side ie no where to put your glasses or drink of water. The switch for the lights was also on the other side of the bed this made it very difficult to get up in the night without hitting yourself on the heating/air conditioning unit on the wall. positive comments The Hotel was clean and conveniently situated. It also offered good leisure facilities and the food was excellent.
negative comments The standard room was cramped, very little room on one side of the bed. We also found the bed short, we are 6'0 and 5'7.
