Attention is required in the bedrooms to bring them up to the standard of the public rooms. (99510333)

positive comments The staff were very polite and the food was of a good quality. The public rooms were decorated to a reasonable standard but not of a three star standard.
negative comments Lack of a lift for people with disabilites. Our bedroom was very tired and needed decorating, lights had lamps missing and the wardrobe was dusty and left a lot to be desired. The bathroom required decorating. The overall lighting of the bedroom and bathroom was poor.

positive comments The hotel is centrally located and has a certain charm. Rooms were clean and utilities in good working order.
negative comments In-room tv's are tiny. Certain areas of the hotel had a slight odour of dampness.
Average
Lyn from Little Clacton, United Kingdom;GB (Solo business traveller) 11 March 2007

I would have liked to have known that there was no restaurant/room service facilities available on Sunday evenings. After a 10 hour journey it was disappointing to have to get a take-away! Concise directions from the main line station would have been useful. (99248912)

negative comments The decor is in urgent need of attention. The hotel needs a complete refurbishment if it is to attract business customers.
