Ilfracombe House Hotel

Our stay was very enjoyable. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was good, the bar was pleasant and the service from the staff was excellent. We were visiting the Cliffs Pavilion for the night and the hotel was very well placed and convienient for this purpose. I would stay here again recommend it to others. (97621967)

The instructions to reach the hotel were very clear and we had no trouble parking once we had arrived there. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and without delay. Our room was spacious, clean and welcoming with all the added extras.ie. trouser press, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities to name a few and Sky tv. Friendly, helpful service. Large room, well furnished, warm (February), clean, good view. Lots of storage and hanging space for clothes. Plenty of room in the en suite bathroom. Excellent self-service breakfast.

Bedside lights are badly sited, so difficult to read in bed.

The breakfast was not so great,also self service, not a problem but plates were not taken once other people had finished and so we were limited where we could sit. Also the door bell must of been right outside our door, it was very loud , but not a nuisance. Over all we were there only one night, but it was enjoyable. (99347105)

Car parking: I was told that there was limited car park space. When I checked in I got the last space, but was told that if I then left it to go out in the evening it could not be guaranteed to be there for me on my return! I booked this hotel because it had four starred. I do not think its amibience and facilities warrant this. Breakfast room extremely hot. Upgraded to lusury flat, lots of room.

Considering it was a luxury flat it was not luxury. Dark rooms and facilities not up to standard.

I found the hotel welcoming and comfortable, however, we went for the compact double and found that it was a little too compact for appreciation. The breakfast was of a good standard and buffet style and was very enjoyable, however, I did feel that the breakfast/dining room was too small to cater for the amount of clients. The hotel states that it has a car park but the car park can only accommodate about eight to ten cars so be prepared to park on the street as we did. The location is a comfortable 10-15 minute walk to the seafront. (3305040955)
