Very dissapointed, only offset by a convenient location to town centre, provided you can stand the noise of neighbouring kebab shops until 3am (not the hotels fault) but worth bearing in mind all the same.
(107530164)

Dust on walls. Furniture appeared sparse and a mattress where you could feel the srings.
There was an awful smell filtering around the hotel for the afternoon and evening.
To top it all off breakfast consisted of Potato wedges??? What appeared to be garlic mushrooms, with absolutely awfull sausages that i think were bargain basement stock.
General cleanliness of the rooms was not of an acceptable standard.
Stephen from SOUTHAMPTON, GB (Solo leisure traveller) 10 December 2008
Pretty good overall with freeview on the TV and good breakfast provided

Everything is fine and look nice. It's near the town also shopping also the club as well.
(107580388)

The good point is room good and clean very well. Nothing wrong with overall in the room.

The bad points is the basin tap (Cold) was poor which is no much of watch also (Hot) tap is sort of loose as well. I would like to see the water will be much better than little like drip. The room is too warm when I arrived and could be balance in between.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've had.
(107189015)

The hotel's location was in the centre of town, so it had good access. The front desk staff were friendly. The beds were clean and free of bed bugs.

The local pubs were extremely noisy, especially on Tuesday nights. The plumbing didn't work well and the staff would not attend to it. The dining room had a sticky floor and the dishes were either dirty or on a dirty tray. The dining room staff was bored and unattentive. The beds were hard and lumpy. Although there was onsite parking, it filled up very quickly.

Hotel seemed to be adequately run and in a good location. Hotel served breakfast from 0700, which was useful as I had an early train to catch. Hotels in more "holidayish" locations often do not start breakfast until much later.

I may be out of date, but I do not believe the price charged was value for money for a hotel of this grade. I would prefer to find somewhere cheaper next time.

It wasn't clear when booking the room on the internet that the credit card details given at that time would not be accepted by the hotel on booking in which caused a lot of inconvenience. Inadequate parking provided.

Overall, we had a good stay but were disappointed that we could not sit in the comfortable bar from 11.30pm for a couple of drinks before going to bed. As regular travellers, we have come to expect this from a good hotel. We hope that when we next visit (as we have stayed at this hotel a few times) this small problem will have been resolved.
(97499068)

the hotel reception area has recently been refurbished and is very modern, and it now has seperate bar and restaurant area, which are very good, with good food and service.

As residents of a hotel, we would expect the bar to be open until a reasonabel time. We got back to the hotel at 11.30pm and the bar was closed. Also the main entrance door was closed and we had to knock to get in! We asked about getting some drinks and we were told that the adjoining night club was open, but we would have to go back outside and stand in the queue to get in. As 40+ lady residents, this was not acceptable.

There was an obvious lack of staff to carry out the tasks needed for the hotel to run as i would assume they would like and expect. The worst side was the food which went from excellent to very, very poor.
The staff who where on duty tried very hard and are a credit to the hotel.

The room was dirty, worst mattress I slept on the past year, on your web site it was suppose to be a new room, or after repair, it seemed the room was old and not cleaned in the past year. I found coins and leftover behind the TV

The breakfast was great and the dining room staff were very helpful. 10/10. the location is tip top.

The noise from the road is quite loud during the night. The car park is a bit small, which is a shame as there didn't appear to be much of an alternative.

Clean and tidy rooms

The fact that the hotel was under some sort of refurbishment. I think that this should of been mentioned when booking as we were bringing clients to the hotel so I was disappointed to see the ongoing works in the hotel something of which I did not know about until walking into reception

Staff were very friendly. Once again I think this hotel is overpriced and is not 3 star standard as far as I am concerned. The soap dispensers in the bathroom were virtually impossible to use - too hard to press and hardly any soap came out. Furniture dusty.

Accommodation central to town.

Accommodation was lacking for a 3 star hotel. Room was a little tatty and overpriced.

I found that due to the combination of the total lack of any kind of air conditioning the room was very hot and uncomfortable to stay in. Unfortunately matters were made worse by the fact that I was unable to open the windows due to the location of the hotel, e.g the nightclub just yards down the road.
If I had known this in advance then I would not have booked the hotel. This was not metioned on the website.
(3304863589)

10 minutes walk from the station.

No airconditioning in the room. Unable to open the windows due to the noise from the town centre and the night club just down the road.
Anonymous (Family with older children) 02 July 2006
All guests should be aware of the nightclub across the street beore booking, so they can request a room at the back if they want to sleep. It really did keep us up all night. :(
(3304616987)

The room was clean and roomy.

There was noise from the club across the street all night. The hotel was a little too far from the rail station to walk, so we had to pay for a cab to & from.
John from Doune, United Kingdom;GB (Solo business traveller) 29 May 2006
Due to one way street system and being my first visit to Doncaster it was very difficult to obtain access to the hotel car park. Apart from that it was an enjoyable stay.

Chewing gum ingrained into the bedsheet. Room looked old and shabby, TV was about 15 years old. This was supposed to be an executive room but was tiny. Walls were paper thin. Due to the hotel being near the town, could hear the local chavs screaming their heads off til 4am in the morning. This was not amusing. Paid
