Overall we really enjoyed the stay the hotel was in beautiful surroundings and very quiet and peaceful. The bedroom and public rooms were very comfortable and spacious.Little things could have made it better. The first receptionist we encountered was unfriendly and unhelpful but overall the other staff were very pleasant and efficient. The breakfast choice was only adequate considering the price we paid,some of the dishes were empty at 8-30.The evening meal was enjoyable but overpriced. Our room had an adjoining door which wasnt locked on arrival- this shouldn't have happened. The walls were very thin. (99457673)

WE BOTH ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WERE IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE BUFFET BREAKFAST , THE ONLY FAULT WOULD BE THAT FOR SOME REASON THE LOUNGE BAR WAS OPEN BUT WASN'T STAFFED WHEN WE VISITED IT AT AROUND 9PM EACH NIGHT. (3305179571)

EXCELLENT LOCATION

Excellent web site very easy to use- would have liked more photos. Very friendly receptionist. Room was clean and attractive although problems with the shower, getting tempreture correct. Breakfast was great for non vegetarians but when we got down to breakfast some of the choices had run out. It would have been good to have choice of herbal teas. The coach parties didn't effect our stay at all and we thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately go back. Overall excellent and would reccomend. (3305073250)

Everything we needed was provided including biscuits. Room was small but clean and attractively decorated. Fabulous location.

Couldn't have a decent shower as it was either too hot or too cold. Otherwise everything was great.

This is a beautiful Hotel secluded in its own little valley, yet very close to other amenities and the M6 motorway. Ideal as a base or as a stepping stone from the Lakes into Scotland. Steeped in history and worth taking time out to read the historical displays. The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful the restaurant food broke the diet. Will come here again. Being our 33rd Wedding Anniversary, I could not have wished for a better weekend. The Staff were outstanding as were the evening dinner and breakfast. Defintely to be recommended to my friends and family! (2494853)
