- Museo Etnografico Pitrè (42.03 km) - To really get a feel of Sicilian culture, head for the excellent Museo Etnografico Pitre', just north of Palermo. The museum is full of brightly-painted traditional Sicilian carts, hand-made puppets and various other exhibits relating to the history and popular traditions of the island.
- Palermo football stadium (42.41 km) - Italian Serie A football team Palermo play at the Stadio Renzo Barbera. Matches are played almost every other weekend during the football season and the 37,500 capacity means that you should not have too much difficulty in getting hold of a ticket (depending on the opponent).
- Monreale Cathedral (36.27 km) - The golden mosaics in Monreale Cathedral are among the finest in the world. You can climb the tower of the 12th century Cathedral (located just outside Palermo), from where the view across Palermo to the sea is stunning. Sitting outside the Cathedral there is often a brightly-decorated, traditional Sicilian horse and cart (carretto siciliano).
