Via Nizza, 230, Torino, 10126

Reconstructed from an old car factory, this ultramodern hotel integrates Turin's past, present and future. Ideally connected to Lingotto Conference Centre, the hotel is a short walk from Politecnico University.

Designed by celebrated architect Renzo Piano, Le Méridien Turin Art+Tech is part of the Lingotto building – an art gallery, convention centre, concert hall, shopping mall and multiplex cinema combined.

Le Méridien offers a new vision of hospitality through design and functionality. The large central hall is bathed in natural light from the glass roof above. Wall-length windows and glass elevators offer a play of transparency and embrace the surrounding city. 5 floors of cherry wood panels create warmth within this expanse of glass and light.

A running track on the roof, constructed from the former Fiat car test track, highlights the hotel's unique functionality, and offers spectacular city views as you jog.

Local Attractions near Le Meridien Turin Art + Tech

  • Turin Airport (1.85 km) - (TRN) Airport of Turin, Torino.

  • Turin Porta Nuova Station (3.32 km) - Porta Nuova Station is the main arrival point for train passengers into Turin. Lake Maggiore, Milan and Genoa are all within easy reach and the station also serves other national destinations. The bus to the airport also stops in the piazza in front of the station.

  • Turin Porta Susa Station (4.53 km) - Porta Susa is the second station in Turin, but some international trains, including Eurocity's TGV from Paris, do stop here instead of at Porta Nuova. It also serves national destinations and the bus to the airport stops in the piazza outside the station.

  • Mole Antonelliana (4.51 km) - The Mole Antonelliana is the symbol of Turin. Completed in 1889, it stands at over 167 metres tall and although you cannot go right to the top, you can visit the balcony, from where there are excellent views of Turin. Originally intended as a Jewish temple, it now houses the informative Museum of Cinema, covering the history of cinema from simple moving images to high-tech special effects. The themed booths are especially worth checking out: in one, you can watch comedy clips whilst sitting on a toilet!

  • Medieval village (2.25 km) - Turin's Medieval village is a surprising trip back in time amongst modern surroundings. Although not actually built in the Middle Ages (it was actually built for the 1884 Turin World Trade Fair), it is an excellent reconstruction of Italian medieval life. Among the church, castle and houses are dotted various shops selling local crafts.

  • Lingotto exhibition centre (0.85 km) - The huge Lingotto centre in Turin is home to one of Italy's top exhibition spaces. Designed specifically for conventions, this year it will house a retro car exhibition, the International Book Fair, a wine exhibition (Salone del Vino) and the 8th Jama-Clepa Business Conference.

  • Egyptian Museum, Turin (4.13 km) - Turin's Egyptian Museum is second only to the Cairo Museum for its excellent collection of Egyptian artefacts. Many of the exhibits, covering the Upper Palaeolithic right through until the Byzantine periods, were found during excavations by the Italian Archaeological Mission in Egypt during the early 20th century. Highlights include the tomb of Kha, the Ellesija Temple and the Royal Papyrus.

  • Carlo Biscaretti Ruffia Car Museum (0.66 km) - Turin is Italy's car capital and old Fiat models feature heavily in the Car Museum. Among the 80 car manufacturers exhibited, other well-known Italian names include Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and Alfa Romeo.

  • National Unification Museum (4.15 km) - The National Unification Museum in Turin is a fascinating tour through Italy's 20th century history. Housed in the building originally intended to be the seat of the Italian parliament (before the capital city became Florence, then Rome), the museum follows the period from Unification to the First World War, Fascism and the Resistance.

  • Parco Valentino (2.5 km) - Parco Valentino is a huge park in the heart of Turin. It is at night, in the many bars and clubs lining the river, that the Parco Valentino really comes alive, but it is a relaxing place to hang out during the day. Apart from wandering through the peaceful park or visiting the Medieval village and Valentino castle, in the summer you can also hire bikes and canoes or take a boat trip down the river.
