Inside Santi Zanipolo (Venetian for saints John and Paul), the most important relic is a foot of Saint Catherine of Siena and there are also works by Bellini, Lotto and Veronese. On the opposite side of the canal is one of only three gondola factories (squero) left in Venice.
- Santa Maria della Salute (0.56 km) - Santa Maria della Salute is the most recognisable church in Venice after Saint Mark's. Located on the south bank of the Grand Canal, the huge gleaming white church was built in recognition of Venice being spared from the 17th century plague. Even now, annually on 21 November, Venetians construct a pontoon bridge across the Grand Canal from the Salute to the San Marco district, which they then bravely proceed to walk across.
