- Pompei (16.05 km) - The sheer size of the Pompei excavations is astounding. The ancient Roman city was so quickly buried following the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD that many of the buildings and mosaics remain well-preserved. You need a lot of time to see the whole site, but highlights include the Vesuvius-dominated Forum, the Amphitheatre, the House of the Faun and the beautiful frescoes at the Villa dei Misteri.
- Museo Correale di Terranova (0.92 km) - Sorrentoâs Museo Correale di Terranova is an excellent museum (well worth a visit) dedicated to painting and decorative arts, including Sorrento's famous art of inlaid wood, originating in and around Naples. There is also an interesting collection of clocks and porcelain.
- Inlaid Wood Museum (1.97 km) - Sorrentoâs Inlaid Wood Museum houses a wealth of fine examples of the typical art of the town. There is also a collection of photographs, paintings and articles that describe the history of inlaid wood in Sorrento.
- Teatro Tasso (1.42 km) - Sorrentoâs Teatro Tasso is home to the excellent Sorrento Musical Show which details the life and traditions of the city and is based on the famous tarantella dance.
