- Trulli houses, Alberobello (11.52 km) - The World Heritage listed Alberobello trulli houses are one of the most unusual sights in Italy. Made entirely of limestone, these intriguing cone-shaped houses are whitewashed every year by their inhabitants. Alberobello boasts over 100 of these trulli, which date back 500 years, although the original concept is thought to be over 5000 years old.
- Castellana Grottoes (4.1 km) - The Castellana Grottoes are an amazing set of underground caves that contain numerous stalactites and stalagmites formed by water dripping through the limestone. The largest cave is La Grave, at 60 metres below ground level, but it is the White Grotto that has pride of place on the guided tour.
- Zoo Safari Fasanolandia (14.58 km) - Zoo Safari Fasanolandia is a large park made up of a zoo and an amusement park. ZooSafari is the biggest of its kind in Italy and has the greatest number of species of any zoo in Europe. The animals from all 5 continents are free to roam around, so you can see zebra, tigers, elephants, lions and giraffes in natural surroundings. There is also a reptile house with various snakes and iguanas, a train that will drive you through the monkey enclosure and a monorail that takes you over the head of rhinos, leopards and hippos. Fasanolandia is a typical amusement park with white-knuckle rides for the bravest and tamer ones for everyone else. There are also a dolphin aquarium (the biggest in Italy), entertainment venues, a picnic area and various eating establishments.
