Local Attractions near Villa Durrueli Resort & Spa

  • Villa Comunale (25.49 km) - Villa Comunale is the biggest public park in Naples and is a great place to take a relaxing stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located by the sea-front, it offers fantastic views of the port and of Vesuvius in the distance. The park is also home to an occasional Sunday market.

  • Castel dell'Ovo (26.8 km) - The Castel dell’Ovo (Castle of the Egg) is attractively situated on a small island in the Gulf of Naples, linked to the mainland by a causeway. Legend has it that the castle was built on top of an egg that the classical poet Virgil placed there in the Roman era; if the egg breaks, it is believed that Naples will fall. There are many restaurants surrounding the castle which give excellent views of the port and of Vesuvius in the background.

  • Mostra d'Oltremare exhibition space (22.44 km) - The Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples is a modern, hi-tech exhibition space located near to the port of Naples. As well as hosting exhibitions, it is also home to various trade fairs, and conventions.

  • Napoli football stadium (22.08 km) - The Stadio San Paolo is home to Italian football team Napoli. The massive 78,000 seater stadium houses matches almost every other weekend during the football season and tickets are usually easy to come across (depending on the opponent).

  • Edenlandia (21.45 km) - Edenlandia is a large amusement park just west of Naples boasting many food establishments and numerous rides for both the adventure-seeker and the weaker of stomach.

  • La Solfatara (18 km) - La Solfatara, just outside of Pozzuoli, is a semi-extinct volcano whose crater you can actually walk into. The area surrounding the volcano is marked by bubbling mud pools, sulphur pits and thermal springs whereas the wider area is the ideal habitat for a variety of plant and bird species.

  • Flavian Amphitheatre, Pozzuoli (17.44 km) - Pozzuoli’s Flavian Amphitheatre was once the third largest in Italy, and although some parts are now closed, you can still get a feel of the immensity of the ancient arena.

  • Centro Sub Campi Flegrei (18.19 km) - The Centro Sub Campi Flegrei in Pozzuoli offer you a variety of PADI, FISA, HSA and CMAS diving courses, from beginner to advanced level. Dives are held at a variety of sites in the Gulf of Naples.

  • Castello Aragonese (1.14 km) - The Castello Aragonese, situated on a small island linked to the mainland by a causeway, is the most prominent landmark in the town of Ischia Ponte, the capital of Ischia. Although much of the castle is closed, from the outside it is very impressive and you can still visit some of the other buildings of the citadel.

  • Eurochocolate Fair (21.46 km) - Eurochocolate is a week of heaven for all chocolate lovers. It takes place between 4-12 December 2005 at Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples. Visitors can marvel the chocolate exhibitions, tastings and chocolate-themed attractions and maybe pick up some festive goodies in time for Christmas.
