  • Eiffel Tower area (5.31 km) - In 1889, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest buiding in the world. It was built for the Exposition Universelle (World Fair) as well as to commemorate the 100th birthday of the French Revolution.

La Défense presents a landscape of skyscrapers and towers and also has a massive shopping centre called 'Les 4 Temps', open Monday to Saturday from 10am until 8pm. La Défense is only 5 minutes by tube from the Champs Elysées either by the RER train or the Métro which makes this area very attractive for people who wish to save money on hotels and save time commuting easily to the Champs Elysées area on the weekend (easy access and great hotels with discounted rates).
