This area is rich in natural beauty, abounding in groves and large vineyards. The golden sand beaches are both calm and breathtaking, especially the 'Foz the Arelho', 10 km from the city.

The city of Caldas da Rainha is considered as a capital of ceramics in Portugal. Take a visit to the Ceramics Museum, with pieces dating back to the 16th century. A piece of pottery from this region makes the ideal, unique souvenir.
