Ideally situated for exploring Ryedale and the North Yorkshire Moors, the hotel is situated in an area of natural beauty, between the traditional market towns of Pickering and Malton.
Look out for the famous Beansheaf extras, including origami towels, handmade local chocolates, complementary J2O drinks, a pool table, guaranteed taxis (or they'll take you to Pickering for free), takeaway breakfast in a bun (for that extra 20 minutes in bed) and champagne breakfasts (weekends only).
Offering exceptional cuisine, intimate bars, designer bedrooms, flat-screen TVs, free broadband internet and friendly, efficient staff, no trip to Yorkshire is complete without a stay here.
The bar is set in the oldest part of the hotel and features a real log fire and exposed stone walls. It serves an extensive and reasonably priced wine list with at least 10 wines available by the glass. The current draught range consists of Carlsberg, Stella, Jennings Bitter, Marsden's Smooth, Strongbow and Guinness. The lounge is open throughout the day for real coffees, drinks and light snacks. Head chef Fred and his team pride themselves in using freshly cooked local and seasonal produce wherever possible. They seek to delight you with delicious, well presented food in a relaxing atmosphere. Booking is strongly advised, especially at weekends and during busy periods.
