Paisley's Restaurant takes its name from Sir Thomas Paisley, who was the original owner of the house. He was an Admiral in the Royal Navy, and chose this beautiful site to build his retirement home in 1848. The views from the restaurant are spectacular, overlooking Lake Windermere, the Langdale Pikes, Claife Heights and the surrounding mountains. The chef prides himself on his interesting and imaginative cuisine, mixing the best of traditional English fare and continental cuisine. Local produce is used wherever possible and a wide selection of dishes are available to enjoy while you relax and enjoy the views.
