It is named after the Earl of Leicester's Royal Mansion that once stood here - it was demolished in 1791. - Piccadilly Theatre (0.25 km) - A huge theatre - it was claimed in the souvenir brochure celebrating the opening that 'if all the bricks used in the building were laid in a straight line, they would strech from London to Paris'! Currently showing 'Jailhouse Rock'.
- Prince of Wales Theatre (0.24 km) - The first theatre on this site was The Prince's Theatre which was designed by C J Phipps. This theatre was opened in January 1884 and was demolished in 1937 to make was for the larger present theatre. Currently showing 'Mamma Mia!'.
- Queen's Theatre (0.2 km) - The Queen's Theatre was designed as a twin to the Globe Theatre (now called the Gielgud Theatre). On the 24 September 1940 a bomb fell on the theatre destroying the entire front of house area along with the rear stalls! Currently showing 'Les Miserables'.
