Sonata Hotel

All staff pleasant and helpful. Good quality rooms which compare well with more expensive hotels we have used in Cologne. Definitely value for money. (107187008)

A good sized comfortable single room in a quiet location, ideally situated behind the main shopping street and a short walk from the cathedral. Toiletries, hairdryer and minibar all provided. Good sized powerful shower with sliding glass screen (no dreadful clinging shower curtain!) Generous breakfast buffet included in the price.

Reception is only open between 0700 - 2300hrs, so late arrivals have to arrange to have a room key left at a nearby 24hr parking garage. In the event we arrived before 2300hrs, but it would have been unsettling to hunt for the garage(it is not in an obvious position) in an unfamiliar location in back streets late at night. Obviously the 'out of hours' arrangements cannot be mentioned on the Active or Sonata websites for security reasons, but details of the procedure & a map pinpointing the position of the garage could be sent to customers as part of the booking confirmation.

Very nice staff and helpful staff. Rooms were clean, and comfortable.

Wireless could not be accessed from my room. I had to walk out into the hallway to use the wireless.
