Close to all attractions and amenities, yet situated away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront, the hotel is in a tranquil location, overlooking private grounds.

A former merchant's house, this family-run, licensed premises has undergone a major refurbishment programme to offer you all modern comforts for a relaxing and memorable stay.

The Southern is situated close to the beach, Wellington Pier, the leisure centre, Pleasure Beach and outer harbour.

Please note that the hotel does not take Stag or Hen Parties or bookings from guests under the age of 25 years.

Your accommodation includes breakfast, which can either be one of Tony’s full English breakfasts, or a continental-style cold buffet. But you could enjoy more: a full, 3-course dinner is also available. Our varied menu, which changes every day, includes meat and fish dishes, with fresh vegetables (locally sourced wherever possible), all this for only GBP 12 per person.

Dinner is served at 18:00 each day; if you would like to take advantage of this option, please order before noon of your day of arrival, as each meal is prepared and cooked to order. A vegetarian option can also be ordered; if you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know prior to arrival.

Child Policy:

All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.

Cancellation Policy:

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
